2013 is going to be great for PR!

… Well we certainly expect it to be for Simpler PR!

2013 is our 10th year of trading and on March 31st we celebrate our 10th birthday – double figures, how exciting!

When I founded Simper PR back in 2003 I wanted to create a lifestyle PR agency with a difference; one with ethical standards and our clients’ interests at the forefront of everything we did. I believe we have achieved this.

Of course it hasn’t all been easy – and in the last 3 years we have seen trading for our clients become more and more difficult. We specialise in interiors and lifestyle PR, entrenched in the tightly squeezed retail sector. Consequently our efforts have had to increase; we have been entrusted with some of their highly prized marketing budget and have had to make each pound work very hard. We aim for impressive results based PR with a return of investment of at least 12.1 (the PR industry standard is 7.1) but we are currently averaging around 14.1 across the board.

Another fact we are very proud of is that in 10 years of trading we have never lost a client to another PR agency; “remarkable”, as one of my industry colleagues put it!

So going in to 2013 we are cautiously optimistic and look forward to the challenges ahead. I will look back over the last 10 years and take stock of where we have come from and where we are. I am extremely fortunate to have attracted some lovely clients and equally lovely team members. That is what makes it exciting looking forward to the next 12 months and of course, the next 10 years!

Thank you – and………

Happy New Year!

Tis the season to be….?

Well what is our adjective going to be? Jolly, angry, sad, busy, generous???

Here at Simpler PR we seem to be a mixture of all these at the moment – and probably some more we  can add as the month progresses – drunk, hung-over, exhausted, frantic etc. etc…

One adjective we really want to ensure is applicable to us is generous though and to this end we are undertaking our “Christmas Coverage Log” – keeping a record of all coverage achieved in December and donating £2 for each piece. This year we have decided to work with a local charity, The Hospice of St Francis.

The Hospice cares for patients with a wide range of life threatening illnesses – cancer, heart disease, lung disease and neurological illness. Care is given in the Inpatient Unit and the Spring Centre. The Hospice also helps beyond the actual Hospice building, in the home, in local hospitals and nursing homes.

We hope that the most appropriate adjective to add to our title will of course be Jolly (rather a redundant word these days). At this time of year, despite the busyness and panic we want more than anything for our clients, industry colleagues, family and friends to be…. Happy!

So Merry Christmas to you all, and if possible please help us with our target of £300 (that’s 150 pieces of coverage in 4 weeks)…
